Hang art properly

Art hung too high is the single most common decorating mistake, and it is free to fix.

Centre at 145cm

The middle of the piece sits at roughly 145cm from the floor — average eye level. Over a sofa, drop it so the bottom edge is 15–20cm above the back.

Gallery wall spacing

5–8cm between frames, treated as one block with its centre at 145cm. Lay it out on the floor first and photograph it.
