About cozyde

A decorating journal, written one room at a time

Cozyde started as a folder of notes about a flat that never felt finished. The lighting was wrong, the walls were beige, and nothing could be drilled into. Fixing it took two years and a lot of returns.

Everything published here was tried in a real home first. When something didn’t work, that goes in the guide too — it’s usually the more useful half.

How these guides are made

Three rules that haven’t changed since the first post.

Tested, not collected

Nothing is recommended from a product page alone. If it hasn’t been in the flat, it isn’t in the list.

Measurements included

Heights, sizes and prices are written down, so you can check before you buy instead of after.

Renter first

Most readers can’t drill, paint or replace fittings. Guides assume that unless they say otherwise.

How the site makes money

Cozyde is free to read and always will be. Two things pay for it: Amazon affiliate links inside shopping guides, and display advertising on some pages. Neither changes what gets recommended — the picks are chosen first, the links added afterwards.

If a product stops being good, it comes off the list even if it earns well. If you ever spot something that reads like an advert dressed as a guide, tell us.
